Nanette Lepore

I must admit that Miu Miu’s crazy naked people collars and Bedazzled Silky Platforms (which, of course, we can’t deny it, are BEAUTIFUL), have taken the spotlight and any extra space in my brain up for much too long, but I came to remind myself that the world does not depend on Sparrow Studded Clogs and even if I pray to all of the million gazillion variations of higher forms of life, I will indeed never receive them. Miss Miuccia Prada, I hope you’ve received all 480,000 of my telepathic Pleas…

I remember back in the day (okay, my middle school years) where Panda/Owl/Giraffe printed Keds came out and everyone had to have them and I, like a sheep, agreed with them all, while secretly I wished for Nanette Lepore’s version of the American Classics. If I would have admitted that to any friend, they would’ve taken me as some weirdo who had no idea what she was talking about, and since they’d never heard of such a name, they would have assumed that I’d made it up just to fit in.
The name does sound tres chic though eh?

So now to change course, I give you a great mind in which I haven’t heard much ranting on about nowadays. I have rambled on for far too long, and I'm betting my Snazzy Skirt you would like to know about her Fall Ready to Wear 2010 ensemble is composed of.

I suppose you can all go to Style.com for their reviews, and any other review on any other name for that matter, but just because Big Brother A tells you this and that, doesn’t mean Big Sister B can’t be Right. As for the word Right, Nanette hit the Right note, Right down to the bottom of Righteousness. The tones of amber and sunset were well expressed in her new collection, and the dark evergreen shades entwined with evening navy made for the uttermost right concoction for Fall. The Long Trench-like silhouette of the shearling trimmed aviator jacket made its’ appearance early in the runway, surrounding a beautiful sequined dress. Afterwards we see a beautiful belted orange overcoat, which can easily be pictured on a hip, young, sophisticated Femme, on her way to a date through the windy streets of San Francisco-as is, with a little fringed keychain purse hanging at her side. The last 3 outfits share the similarity of floral-like patterns, as well as the last tweed skirt. Each is ideal for the eagerly approached Autumn, with a little hint of an innocently sexy note. As for the 2nd dark, silky little dress number, I am left to wonder if it is the black sheep of the bunch. i.e. not quite fitting in, but Mesmerizing.

*Long Drapey Velvety dresses also made a big appearance here, but my skin rashes up when it comes into touch with velvet, and the thought of putting something up in which I could never wear even if I wanted to hurt me a little too much.
Now for my favorite piece of the collection, is this Navy cotton/trench looking pullover dress, complete with My Most Favorite Things on Earth-Pockets. It didn’t hurt that it was paired with some Glorious Studded Cloggy Strappy Pumps. I need to find a pair of these, linger around while pretending to check out several articles of clothing (while secretly keeping an eye on my-soon to be-babies), cough discreetly, look around, and quickly snap them up into my oversized ruffled pleather tote while scurrying away as to look like the innocent bystander that I am.

I was nott able to retain a close up shot of them, this is G R A V E indeed.

Now on a more discreet note, I wasn't too sick today, so I spent up typing my Proposition 17 paper wearing this. I must admit, I definitely felt Snazzzyy walking the hallways and sitting in a chair for, I don't know, 3 hours straight.

Saturday

These past few days have been spent in non-stop spring cleaning.
I watched Pride & Prejudice this afternoon, Ohh Mr. Darcy...

You've had me in a dreamy trance boy...
Matthew Macfadyen, things aren't so swell with the appearance nowadays though eh?
